Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Can anyone tell me if this is plumeria flower buds? I have never had one bloom before so I am unsure. It does not look like the leaves when they first emerge.

This comes at the right time, rylaff!
I now have to watch out for similar growth on my plumerias.

As I said, I watched out and what should I say? ... my chocolate-brown stem of my plumeria has thrown up a few sets of buds on two branches out of three! Now the suspense is about the colour - my first plumerias grown from seed - taken nearly 4 years to reach this stage.

My son brought back one of those pieces of stem that they sell you in Hawaii as a souvenir! It rooted and he has three of them now -- they look terrible when he brings them in for the winter -- they lose all of their leaves and look like big sticks in pots until spring, when he puts them outside and they start sprouting those huge leaves and bloom with yellow flowers that smell sooooo sweet! They are beautiful. I remember having a lei put around my neck on a trip to Hawaii, that was made of them and it smelled wonderful - the flowers bruise easily so you don't want to handle them -- I was told to fill the sink in the hotel room with water and put the lei in the water at night ...it lasted almost the whole week we were there, except for the flowers that touched my skin, bruised and died.
