What are your top three or more favorites?

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

It seems like everytime I come onto DG brug forum, I see a brug that is new to me. Many of them I don't see for sale anywhere I have looked. Where do you all buy them? and what are your favorites?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I have traded for most of mine, bought a few from Kartuz and Logees, and I have good friends who are extremely generous. I plan to get a couple from Tracey as soon as they are released (crossing fingers). Right now my favorites are Butterfly, Rosamond, Dr. Suess, and Versi. Orange for singles. For doubles, I like Golden Lady, Carissa and Double Peach. I like almost all brugs. Some just don't perform as well as I would like or don't change color in my zone like others, and if they don't make me happy, I get rid of them and get something else.

Shirley, I'm in line for these also. LOL Can't wait until Tracey releases them.

My top one is Butterfly. Then Versi Orange. Golden Lady for dbl. Have buds on lot of them already, hoping for a good year!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I would have have to say Rosamond is my favorite brug. Cream sickle is no. 2. And 3 varies depending what is looking great at the moment. I guess L'Amour. But my new one is pretty hot. If it is floriferous like Rosamond it will become No. 1 because it is so dark!!!

I also love Tropical Sunset and I finally located it the other day. I was so afraid I had given it away. I also have a seedling from last year that was a huge white that I adored. As soon as it flowers again I will see if it is a keeper.

Just the post I was looking for Margie, thanks! I am making a list and now need some cuttings! Anyone wanna trade daylilies for brug cuttings?! I wanna catch up to Margie! :-) (Now have to hunt down a good source of large pots)

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Welcome Calif_Sue!! Heres a great place, with great prices to boot lol. http://www.growersupply.com/tradgalcon.html

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Caif_Sue, if you find any good local sources let me know. HD is getting expensive!!

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

Thanks Shelly, I get those free from a landscaper friend. I am talking fancy show off pots, BIG! Costco has a nice light weight resin one but they are still $20 each! Well, maybe I will have to collect them one or two a month. I am going to check another source that has seconds, over runs and lightly damaged and see what the prices are like. A road trip will have to be planned soon!

Aloha Alohahoya:

Welcome to the Brug forum and mahalo for putting your garden at our disposal. I'm sure that you will find many eager traders here.

How is life on The Big Island? When I lived on Oahu over 20 years ago, I never made it over there, much to my chagrin. However, my ex-husband did and has fond memories (LOL) of PTA.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Calif-Sue, where would that be? She asks with much interest!

Welcome Alohahoya2000!! Glad you joined us. Aren't there strict import rules? I know export is tough. I hear there are beautiful brugs over where you are? No? A friend went last year and actually broke her leg climbing up a rock to grab a piece of one. She described the color as amazing! I would love to see pic of your garden!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

ohhh pretty pots.. lol sorry

Now Kell, you may be familiar with this one, I understand you are somewhere in the north bay? NorCal Pottery Products. I did a google search and found one in Richmond and the other in San Leandro, maps included. http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=norcal+pottery+berkeley
I had a big rose collector tell me years ago of one place that was right off 880, can be seen from the freeway even, near Berkely, not sure of the name though. She got all her pots there, if they had chips the were just turned a different direction. I will see if I can check these out this week and report back.

Picturelady, you asked about places to buy.Try this new one.She can't be beat for quality.http://brugmansias.us/

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

gone2seed...the site looks very nice. When checking out the shipping policy though....one part was not sounding so good, as I live in CA.!

"Federal guidelines require a phytosanitary certificate for shipments to CA, AZ, HI, WA and OR and orders to Canada. The cost is $50 per shipment. Please allow 2 weeks from order to shipment to allow for inspection."

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Welcome to the brug forum AlohaHoya2000. Hey, how about a short name. That one is a bit long to write. LOL! Hope you will post some pictures from Hawaii. We love tropical here.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Hey Brugie...how about AH2K...is that short enough? LOL I like it!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Calif-Sue. Norcal is great. I have tons of pots from there. You can get some that are perfect also. I bet they are running scarce there now though. I didn't know they had a store in Richmond also.

I think you may be talking about
A W Pottery
2908 Adeline St
Berkeley, CA 94703
(510) 549-3900.

I was told this was a great place. I only went once and didnot find it all that inexpensive. There is anohter AW store you can see from 880 by the Coliseum. It is on the right as you go towards Oakland. It is very close, though on the opposite side of freeway from Norcal. I only went ther once also and again the pots were great but the prices were not that cheap. But that was a long time ago.

Let me know what you find.
