How long to germinate-average?

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

I got a lot of brugmansiia seeds last year in a trade. It then worked out that I didn't get to plant them. Now I'm ready and want to know how many days until I see little baby brug leaves comeing thru the soil. I did sow them direct in some areas.

leaflady...the seeds I planted in planting mix, indoors, under lights and on a heating pad, took just about 3 weeks to show any green. Outdoors and without the light and heat, I would imagine would take alittle longer. Actually about 50% came up, the other 50% still didn't and it has been about 5 weeks now. Hope this helps.

Hallo leaflady, I would soak the seeds for 48hrs in lukewarm water before sowing. Older seeds need a little bit longer for germinating than fresh seeds.
Picturelady, I would peel a few seeds to check, if the embryos have not rotted. This happens once in a while. But the seed coat might also be to hard for the embryo to pop the corkshell.

Thank you monika...I will do that! The others in the container are ready for re-potting, and I wasn't sure what to do with the ones that did not sprout! I will check them out.
