Asexual reproduction???

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

I bought Snowbank from Wayside Gardens. On the tag it states "Asexual reproduction of this w/o licenses is prohibited".
What does that mean?
Thanks

You are not supposed to propagate it from cuttings because it is a patented plant.

Okay, not trying to sound like a dummy, but...
After googling snowbank, i found quite a few sites that are selling it.
For someone that just wants to grow and share, can I? can i use the pollen? can a name a seedling that i may get out of it? if a piece breaks off, does that mean i cant root it?
what exactly does patenting a plant mean? All i really got out of abads and bgi is that its protected for 20 years. Protected how?

Technically, you cannot propagate it asexually, which means rooting cuttings, You can, however, use the pollen or pollinate it, which is sexual reproduction, and you can name seedlings. If a piece breaks off, technically and legally you are not supposed to root it or share cuttings. They could sue if you did, but I am sure a lot of rooting and sharing goes on that they don't know about, and my lips are sealed. :-|
