Someone mentioned that you can identify a brug of this species by its glued antlers.
In Preissels book he also says it has the following characteristics:
Calyx opening is slit 2-5 times, the narrow part of the corolla is visible. It has funnel shaped corolla, 9 1/2 to 13" long. Lenght of peaks 1/2 - 1". Flower postion nodding, sometimes horizontal. Calyx is prismatic at the base.
Does anyone have photos of these or of its hybrides? Any comments on this species as far as growing and blooming are concerned? Any opinions?
B.suaveolens...how can you tell a brug is one of these?
There are lots of hybrids using this one Margie. However now that we have SB in this country, some of us are moving away from it because it is so susceptible to SB.
Also I have noticed alot do not like this one, I personally do not though I do like some suaveolens hybrids. Frosty pink the most famous one, usually does nothing for me. I am an aurea girl thru and thru!
Have you looked at this? It is a fast reference.
