coral Vine ..rosa de montagna

Monroe, LA(Zone 8a)

I was disappointed that my coral vine did not return this year...it was a very mild winter, too! I finally gave up, and when digging it up was surprised to find tubers...LOTS of tubers. I did a search to see if I could somehow stimulate them to new growth, but have found nothing. Does anyone know??

oops, wrong forum!

Hmmm...everything I can find mentions tubers, but nothing about growing vines from them. All the sites say the vines are a tried and true perennial.
Do any of your tubers show any signes of new growth at all?

nope, none at all. I think I am through with buying expensive plants from local nurseries that do not give you any kind of guarantee.

Franklin, LA(Zone 9b)

did you have your vine in a protected area?
it's not really hardy to you, i dont think (i believe it's 9a on up, but i could be wrong)
it might have just froze to death

on a diff note...
i collected and traded seeds from my coral vine last year..but i dont think anyone had a great amount of success with them growing, so this year i'm taking cuttings to try to root
if i have success with that, and you're interested.. just email me (actually, email me now, if you're interested.. so i'll have it in my mailbox to remind me) and i'll send you one for postage.. or whatever :)

I have had one for years and it comes back up year after year. my problem is it is growing up a cypress tree and I am not tall enough to look for the seeds....
