New 'Lady Margaret Passiflora'

Prattville, AL(Zone 8a)

I'm new to the tropical side of gardening and need all the help I can get :-) Does anyone have any trick's , tip's , do's or don'ts , et. I would really hate to kill this little beauty.

I saved her from Lowe's on Sunday (dry as a bone :-( And looking pretty rough but, I had to have her! Here's a pic taken this morning, she's perking up pretty good I think? Hopefully with some TLC she will be a Beautiful Lady soon...

Thx, Dixiechick

She is looking pampered already. Just give her enough light, food, and drink and she should be happy unless you have a problem with insects.

I have had earwigs bugging my passis I whip out the Ortho home defense. I was told my Goldflame and Dropmore honeysuckle would get aphids, they did . They don't have them now.It doesn't hurt the plants . Earwigs love to chew passis' buds, check at night and zap them. Another way is to leave a dish of salad oil out, they will drown themselves in it.Lady margaret's don't take frosty temps so be careful later. I have new flowers on my P.vitifolia. Once you have had a Passiflora, you never go back!

I got mine at Lowes also. Doing very well and putting out multiple blooms daily.

I feel cheated my Lowes has only Lavender Lady(which I already have) Boo Hoo! There is a place in San Fransico called Potrero Gardens and they have every Passi you can imagine. I have gone to everybody around the area, nothing new, I think a road trip is needed.

I am hooked already...These are so wonderful, I can't believe I've passed them by so many time's before..I never knew there were so many to choose from...lol

Sound's like a "ROAD TRIP"...lol

Our Lowes had the Lavender Lady outside. When I went inside to look around where they keep the inside plants and tropicals, I found the Lady Margeret and a couple others. Very nice plants, healthy.

They say this guy is hardy to 20-25 that's perfect for me.The flowers are smaller 2-3in, but loooooots of them. I will be using the Lowes netting and place it 4ft each way from center by 7ft tall on a fence.Black netting, green leaves, white flowers with bright blue centers.Sweet, this is fun!

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I have been using the netting for a couple of years now. Virtually invisible from a distance. Passifloras love to climb on this stuff, as do other vines. I also use it to wrap around lamp posts, mailboxes, and anyway else I want a vine to grow. And it is cheap.

I know I owe you. Did I tell you my shirt trick?

Prattville, AL(Zone 8a)

Wow! Sound'slike a very nice combo...I have a "Road Trip" to Lowe's planned for the AM...Looking for Blue Horizon..And who know's whatelse I'll run across...lol

This is soo much fun..thx for all the tip's and great ideas..

What is the shirt trick?

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

People ask me what software I use to create the black background, answer is The back of a Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas shirt, watch the lint!

Ah, that is my Schroeder. He is a gardener too. He helps me dig my holes.

got my first one from the nursery about three weeks ago. DOn't know the variety, only that is blue. I planted it against a dead tree to climb on. I am amazed how fast this is growing straight up and blooms profusley. I will go to lowes to see if they have some. Would love to have other colors.

I also went to lowes yesterday and bought the netting. I have several places that I will use it., like around parts of the dead tree.
