Looking at threads in this forum, an idea has just flashed past my mind and thought it should not go waste. Has somebody tried to grow plants in old hats? I have seen and been using old pairs of shoes for that purpose with some interesting success. But I don't think anyone using hats suitable as containers. I don't have even one (we don't use them as a custom) to experiment. Just thought of of sharing the idea. How about caps?

I have done so in a cap, but not a hat.
I have taken an old straw hat and sat a potted plant in it but actually planting a plant in the hat itself, then no; just a cap.
Have grown plants in an old pair of jeans tho; well shorts once I cut the legs off. Has been along time ago since I've done that tho. Wish I had a picture to show, but didn't take one; was a long time ago; no one to share the photo with at the time.
I think an old gardening hat would be fun and cute!
