Call on Media PLAYER experts...

Howdy Folks.

I figgered this might be a good place to learn. I'm thinking of getting one of those combo VCR/DVD player thingies. However, when I went to look at some I was bumfused.

I saw some that had "4 heads"...do others have more?
I saw some that were "DVD-R" and some that were "DVD- RAM". I haven't the foggiest idea of the difference in the two.

I saw some that were "DVD/CD/VCR"...I can only assume the CD part also plays music?

Then there were some "DVD/RW/+R". What's that all about?

Heck, I just wanted a gizmo that would still play our VHS tapes and these new DVD thingies. I don't know if you can record to a blank DVD CD but that's a nice concept.

Anyone have suggestions, statements, recommendations, answers? Heck, right now, I'll even give you permission to just all-out lambaste my innocence, if you like! ô¿ô
