My sticks have leaves!!!

Lewiston, CA(Zone 7b)

I'm just so darned excited! My sticks have leaves & my seeds seem to be doing well. These are all unknown ones & a purple Datura. But I'm sure happy to have something started. I got some seeds from Cala's today, the excitement continues to build! Some with names!!!! First Day X Rosabella, Roamond X Georgia Peach, Gypsy Queen X Bert, & some assorted doubles. She tossed in Rosabella X unknown, what a sweetie! I don't want to screw up any of these seeds so, I was checking around about the soaking of the seeds. The bleach baths.
Some peeled them others didn't. I haven't begun the "soak" yet, guess I'll peel some & just plant others.
To peel or not to peel?? :o
Any comments, toss'em out there.
Thank-x, Bj
I could use some assurance!

It is exciting isn't. I'm still out every day at twice just checking on my brugs, talking to them, and smiling all the time!

They are looking good. Let them get more leaves on them and then plant them in the ground or your large pots. I think if you aren't worried about weather, that I'd take them outside to grow. For some reason they seem to grow faster outside for me. You will do fine with the seeds. If not....there are always more seeds out there someplace. LOL!

Bj...your cutting look great. I planted some seeds too on 4/20. I soaked but didn't peel...it was hard to peel and I was afraid I would damage the seed inside.
They took about 3 weeks to germinate in planting mix, moistened in a plastic bag, under lights.
Look at them now....4 weeks later....getting their second leaves!
Good luck & keep us posted!

Thank-x everyone, Yes, I will put them outside. I imagine the fresh air does wonders for them. Sun, part sun, AM sun????
Where should I put them?
I'm going to soak my new seeds tomorrow, I have nothing planned for the next few days, other than work in the yard here. I have another question... I got a few heating cables at a yard sale, they were new, but there are no instructions with them.
Do I put the cable in the tray under the soil, or do I put it under the tray I'm planting these in? I have never used one before. I actually bought them before I really even knew what I'd use them for. 50 cents for 3 of them, heck the price was right! Any help would be appreciated!

If they are rooted well, you could start them out in the shade of a tree for a few days and then gradually move them into the sun little by little.

Can't help you with the cables. Have never even seen heat cables before. LOL!

Brugie, you are always SO helpful. Thank-x for the info. I'll move them out in a few days, they were just repotted to gallon containers. I did plant one out in my flower bed it faces south but gets some dappled shade. It seems to be doing great! Putting on leaves much faster than the potted ones!

You are so welcome. They do seem to like the natural light they get outside and start growing much faster. Good luck with them. I hope you will post some pictures as they grow and bloom.

I can't wait to see what you get from those seeds. They look like intersting crosses. I esp am intrigued with R X GP. So much fun!

I have used heating cables for a while. They should be covered with appr. 2 inches of moist sand , because sand transmits the heat best. DONT use peat moss, it doesnt transmit the heat, the cable will overheat and burn.
