It sure was having a time growing and now it is starting to grow some branches or stems.. These are my new obsessions..
This is my Hindu Rope (almost 2 years old)
They can be slow growers at times and many seem to have trouble with roots dying on them most likely due to insufficient watering.
Your's seem to have gotten a little too much sun there :).
This plant is hard to grow and kind slowly growing which I have 2 of those plants and sitting hanging in lathe house but I put some VF-11 wet with little water then let it dry first then water little bit not too much moist. It need some huminty (spell)
SnowElk
Actually I would say it's easy to grow but slow. I disagree on your watering frequency SnowElk, especially with letting the soil dry out between watering. H. compacta will tolerate alot of soil moisture provided that the soil is well draining and actually seem to do best with a consistently moist soil.
Watering frequencies will depend on the soil used and enviromental conditions but I'll emphasize on not letting the soil dry out especially with high temperature/low humidity ambient conditions.

Yes the sun here can be a bear on the plants, it fades most of the leaves at first on all other full sun plants, until the plant adapts out here. This one got caught for only one day of our high temperatures here last month. It is also starting to grow those long branches, it has two starting now. They are in an area where I have shade cloth and in the full shade, though they do get alot of light. They seem alot happier now. From reading here, I have been misting them also and have used superthrive in the water this past week, they are continueing to grow, but have not noticed anything different yet, probably too soon.
I have one that is going on three yrs old and it is growing pretty fast. I have taken cuttings and shared them with a few friends, you wouldn't believe how long it still is.
Dinu they don't like to be transplanted until they are pot bound, then only to a pot just one size larger than the one it was in.
I agree with Pana, mine seems to take a lot of water as long as it has well drained soil. I do feed it during flowering season and only with a weak solution during the winter months, I hope this helps you.
