Does anyone have any lavender they can spare?
I can do postage or trade if I have anything you need.
Lavender?
I can send you some seeds later in the year if noone has helped you by then. Let me know.
I tried seeds, they didn't survive. I'm going to go out to a couple of nurseries tomorrow to see if I can find some. Bluestone has it, but with Ohio Sales tax and shipping it's just WAY too expensive.
there are supposed to be different varieties, for various climate zones. be sure to find one that can handle your hardiness zone! :) If you can get ahold of the last copy of Organic Gardening magazine, there is an article in there about it.

Melissa, write or call and nag me and I will finally go out and root you some. I am on light duty for a couple of weeks or until I don't mind anymore. LOL
Well - I have some - I just don't know how to send it in the mail, as a cutting, etc.... never received them before, so don't have an example on how to package it without it drying up and dying........... lol - I have absolutely NO idea. If you can tell me, I'll dig you up some tomorrow. Mine grows well here in zone 5b, and should do well in zone 6 to 7 as well. I THINK mine is the spanish lavender, but can't recall for sure off the top of my head.
How do you root lavender? I'd love to know so I could root some to share next time someone wants some. I have a big patch (well it grew from a little plant so I guess it's just one big plant) that grows in 5a. When I first saw Melissa's post I went out to see if mine had any suckers but it appears to come out of the ground in one thick stemmy spot.
I did grow some from seed but less than 25% germinated, and the remainder hasn't exactly taken off. The little plantlets have 5 or 6 leaves or less apiece but have that wonderful fragrance. I just don't think they are big enough to mail.
I'm not sure how to root it, but, Ma Vie Rose sent me a beautiful division!! She surprised me!!!
My garden center lady also ordered some in for me, so, now I've went from being lavender-less to having 3 different kinds!!
I'm a happy camper!
Hey Melissa! I was at Gear's yesterday and they have them. You save if you buy 3.
Franks in Eastgate had one, the lady who owns the garden center in Bethel ordered in some Fern Leaf for me.
