I have a huge clump I have to dig out. I also have oodles of magenta obedient plant, prickly pears (the ones with yellow blooms) and trumpet vine.
Anyone want to trade? I'm looking for daylilies (anything except stella or kwanso) and I'm desperately seeking rose campion (Lychnis - the kind with the dark magenta blooms and silvery leaves) and monkshood.
If you're not familiar with these lambs ears - they look like regular lambs ears on steriods.
anyone need giant lambs ears?
Ran across a picture of the giant lambs ears.

Would love to try your giant lamb's ears. Are they hardy to z4? The only things I have for trade are no name hostas (2 kinds- small shiny green leaf, larger green/white leaf), purple palace heuchera and purple echinacea. thanks!
Oh, yes, hardy zones 4-7. They're really tough. You can't kill them unless you plant them in a wet spot. They make a real nice front of sunny border plant.
I'd love some heuchera and/or echinacea. Hostas don't do too well here - too dry.
Hart,
I think you should bring some of those down to the Tennessee Roundup this weekend. http://davesgarden.com/t/424704/
Shoot, you're not far. By my calculations on my US map, you are only 3 finger widths away from Tn.
I would like some giants, but I'm in Tenn for the next week.
:^)
Molly
I'll be glad to save some for you until you're back home, Molly. I have oodles.
I'd love to come to a roundup but I'm way north in western Virginia, a long, long drive from Tenn. I'm about midway between Harrisonburg and Winchester.
hart - you've got email
I would love to have some but does it is heavy to cost much postage let me know thanks,
Kooger, I don't think my email through here is working. I haven't gotten an email from you. I sent one to myself a couple of hours ago as a test and that hasn't arrived either. Did you get the email I sent you?
Redrose, the lambs ears aren't heavy but I had planned to send priority.
Skatayama, I would love to have some Lychnis. I've looked everywhere for it here - even the garden center that's 80 miles away and no one had any. I can't even find seeds.
I have the dark magenta flowered Rose Campion-if you don't find any.
CK
No I didn't get an email from you. My address is in the member exchange. I was going to send out your plants by 4 today if I got your address in time. I think I better wait til Monday now so they don't sit in a P.O. somewhere over the weekend. Try emailing again with your address or add it to the member exchange so I can get it, ok?
Oh, dear. Where is the member exchange?
Just had a look at the picture.....do those Lambs Ear flower? By the look of those, they grow wild all over the place here.
These don't flower like the small lambs ears do. A circle of baby plants will grow up around the center, "mother" plant. I usually divide them every two or three years. Other than that, they require no care whatsoever. They're extremely drought tolerant - they thrived here through about five summers of very bad drought.
Email is working finally and I got your emails, Kooger and Deann.
Deann, these aren't wild. The variety name is Stachys byzantina Big Ears.
If you want to go to a round-up, we are going to one June 4-6 near Cumberland, MA. That is not far from you, is it?

I would be interested in the giant lamb's ear too. Do you have Lady's mantle? I have both the regular size and the smaller one too.
Cumberland is a bit of a haul from here - unless we can flatten out West Virginia. LOL
I have plenty of lady's mantle but am open to lots of other stuff.
