My cuttings of 'Double White' have been blooming for weeks in a sunnier location than the Mother plant. She's is in heavier shade to protect her from the brutal summer sun.
This was yesterday.

'Double White' - Yesterday and Today
I'm green with double white envy!!! Beautiful!!
I love that color yellow.
beautiful!
lovely!!
So pretty!
Wow! I had no idea that they started yellow -- I have two of those, and I'm very excited to see them bloom. Last time I checked, no buds yet... Thanks for the pretty pics, Candy.
Its wonderful..
So so pretty!
Glad you all enjoyed seeing this first bloom, many more are opening and she's loaded with buds.
Ms 'Double White' isn't as exotic as some, but this is a tough plant. She stayed in the ground her first winter, has been slower to come back than the 'Charles Grimaldi' Brugs, but she is on the shady side of the house to keep her out of the full summer sun.
I pruned her pretty hard for shape last fall and I'm pleased with the "umbrella shape" she has. I have three cuttings from this plant that over wintered in the green house and went into the ground a couple of months ago. All have bloomed and are doing well.
Gretchen, please post pics when you get some blooms!
Wow, Candy -- she's a gorgeous plant! I probably made a mistake by putting mine in full sun, but they are thriving for now. They have a little protection from some other plants nearby, but will hopefully end up taller than their neighbors. Will definitely post if and when they bless me with blooms. Gretchen :)
Ohhhh, so pretty I love all the doubles and like you Gretchen didn't know they started out yellow. I have the Candita Double white, Shredded White and Tiara I am so anxious to see them bloom...... Very pretty Happen.... :o)

Evening All -
Gretchen I didn't plant my 'Double White' until I think late June of last summer when it was about 100F for a couple of weeks straight. So I may just be imagining the need for some shade. I do know that the blooms didn't last long when it was extremely hot and that the fall blooms when it was cooler didn't brown up so fast.
Since my Brugs will all have to survive in ground year round I'm looking for some easy, strong, pest resistant ones.
I love the Double Whites...mine hasn't bloomed yet but I plan to plant it in the ground and maybe I can get some blooms too.I think they are so pretty...can't wait to get a double pink ...lol
