Take a tour of my garden....

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

I got very picture crazy today. I had such a great time over the weekend. Spend two wonderful days planting, swimmng, and relaxing. The weather was beautiful. The garden is coming along nicely.

Here is a picture of some brugs in pots. Not much to look at now. Give them a month or so.

Wow, give it a couple weeks and you will have blooms everywhere. We ae having gorgeous weather, so much to do, all at once!

Most of mine are in pots, will plant bigger ones in the ground.
Can't wait to get a jump start on the blooming.

Your yard is just beautiful. How do you get your hostas so big this early in the year? The few that I have are just now peeking out of the ground and I live in South Texas.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Kristi .. your yard was beautiful last year and I can see it will be beautiful this year too.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Kristi, I love our shade garden. In another month, we will probably not recognize your yard. With warm weather eveything grows and fills so fast. There will be fragrance of brugs everywhere. Truly a lovely place you have.

Very beautiful yard! I truly love it!!! Gretchen

Your gardens are so beautiful Kristi.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

datdog, I love your garden with the brugs and the shade garden.

I am just getting into hostas and I am afraid I killed my first smallest one. I over watered it! I am not sure if it will come back. The leaves are falling off of it! The 3 larger ones are doing just fine.

Kristi your gardens are to die for, I love everything, it is so inviting and your plants are so beautiful and healthy and green. I love your pots too - do you keep your brugs in the small pots all season or do you put them in the ground???? I thought I would need huge pots, maybe not - that's a question...Sherry

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Looking just great Kristi! I love your Japanese Maple in the first pic. I noticed them all over when I was in Rumson. Everyone had huge ones. Makes just beautiful bushes and trees.

Kristi, what kind of grass sod do you use in the shade, not that it would work in Arky, but yours is just wonderful!!!

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments. I don't know any other gardeners in my area. It's nice to get some feedback once in awhile.

Sherry- Grass? LOL- just weeds and a few blades of grass here and there. I won't let my husband put down any lawn chemicals. So the lawn always looks like heck.

I do keep many of my brugs in smallish pots. They don't seem to mind if they are growing in part shade. It won't work with small pots and full sun. I also plant several in the ground. I like to grow them in pots so I can keep them close to the patio. We are always outside. It's nice to be able to see them all the time.

Kell- that maple in the picture I picked up for 5 dollars two years ago at the end of the season. I also have many other 'bargin' maples. Some real neat ones.

Is it possible that the maple is in the 4th pic on the left, rather than the 1st pic?? Kristie, I'm gonna tell ya, your grass is great!! The only reason I don't have a dirt yard is because the stickers are green, grrrr!
We have grass in the sunny parts of the yard, beautiful grass, but the shade gives it fits...I'm gonna do some small pots for the same reason, I really enjoy bringing the blooming ones near us, and our places aare in the shade - using pots is the only way because the yards are so large...you are a talented gardner and a hard worker and it shows!!

Kristi, everything looks so nice. I was wondering....do you hire out as a consultant for gardeners? I think I need some of your expertise.

Freedom, PA(Zone 6a)

Wow, your gardens are beautiful. I love that hosta, I think I have that one, but it's not mature yet, can't remember the name. I hope to get some pictures as soon as I get my gardens in order. The only gardens completed are my hosta gardens. I keep most of my Brugs in pots also, I think there easier to take care of, and if one's not happy where it is, it can be easily moved. Cathy

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Kristi, your garden looks wonderful! The size of the hostas is amazing. Mine just have half the size of yours.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

You have an absolutely beautiful yard Kristi! Im thinking the reason you dont know any other gardeners in your area is because everyone knows they cant compete with your yard. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Your place looks beautiful, Kristi! I love the shade gardens with all the hostas. It will really be sumthin when your brugs get going!

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Kristi, your garden is just beautiful. And so neat and healthy looking. I live in desert area and would grow more brugs etc. in pots but it is a constant watering thing here. I have been irrigating since the first of March. Today was cloudy with a couple of showers, oh for a good all night rain. Donna

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Your gardens are lovely! What's your secret?

The Heart of Texas, TX(Zone 8b)

Very Nice garden datdog! I love your hosta, shade garden pic, it looks very relaxing. I know what you mean about not having other garden buddies to share it with...if I didn't share my pics with DG's my garden & critters would never be seen by anyone.
Thanks for sharing,
Lottie

Orange Park, FL(Zone 8b)
