Looks like giant tithonia to me too.They can grow to 25 feet tall in nature.

Simple to grow from cuttings, short or long, they root in water in just days.
The one in the PDB picture was a small cutting last April! It got real big, real fast. Mine is in such need of pruning but almost every branch has buds! It is a favorite of the big solitary bees, I often find the bees on the flowers and covered with dew on fall mornings.
I love this plant and hope I'm never sorry that I planted it!
