My Lowes find

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I have been wanting a Lady Margaret Passiflora for a while. Found one at Lowes , of all places.

Wow, who would have thought they would have Lady Margaret..........I just got mine in the mail and I'll bet the little stinker that is about six inches tall cost about the same as yours did.

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I dont know, for a Lowes plant it was pretty pricey, 19.97. But it is a nice size.

Good looking, I just love that color! I saw the same thing at Lowes, but that price scared me away :) I'm glad you found what you were looking for!

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

Wow, that is a pretty passion vine.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I am going to have to make a trip to Lowe's again. I just wish it was closer!

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

rylaff, what a great shot of a lovely passiflora. I just moved my two potted ones out of the greenhouse to the shadehouw. They did bloom sporadically all winter. Donna

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh gosh, I would have paid that to get the size plant you have. Mine will take a month and a half to get to that size. Very pretty and you have blooms to enjoy that I have to wait on. I'm happy for you.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8a)

rylaff........that colour is awsome! Elaine

Your Passion vine is beautiful and I'm with Brugie, I'd pay the price gladly if I could find any Passion Vines locally. Lowe's is an hour drive, but even then I've never seen passion vines there. I'll have to check again.

Question for you..............

Is that "trellis", the same thing I use to cover my strawberry plants? (to keep the birds from eating them) Or maybe something similar.

How do you attach it to the wall? and how is it attached at the base? Looks like an idea I could use.

Lamar, AR(Zone 7a)

I was wondering the same thing Tree Climber! I really like the "translucentness" of the wire.

I have a empty space at the end of a shade structure I could fill with this wire.

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

You might look into stucco wire They put it on the house to make the stucco stick when they are re-doing it. I am thinking of a morning glory wall out of it. By lying down different color plants get a rainbow effect.

Lamar, AR(Zone 7a)

I will look into that Monterey!

Prattville, AL(Zone 8a)

I found a Lady Margaret Passiflora too, and a number of other nice plants, at Lowe's..lol :-) You never know what you'll find there!

I'm sooo excited!

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

It is just plastic deer or bird netting. The same stuff you use to cover your fruits and grapes and such. Cheap, lasts at least a season, easy to put up, and all vines love to climb on it. Invisible at a distance. I have it on my fences, mailbox, walls, and anyplace else I want a vine to climb. To secure to wood, I use a staple gun. Otherwise, I find someplace to tie it to. In the picture, it is secured to a window shutter on each side. Works great.

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

I saw it today it is called Ross's bird netting ,but they have a trellis pack that is 6 by 12. I think my morning glory wall is coming. The parent company is called Easy Gardener from Waco Tx. Ace hardware carries it for 5.99. Go to google type Easy Gardener for stores.

I buy 100 feet by 7 feet for 10.97 at Lowes. I even have it wrapped around a lamppost. And you can twist it around things and get the vines to go in different shapes and places.

Lowes it is. I have a gift card Woo Woo! Yes !They do fruit.

Brown City, MI(Zone 5a)

Rylaff,

Thanks for answering my question. I've got lots of the stuff in my garage. I bought some for the Strawberries last year, when I already had some and didn't realize it. Easier to keep it then take it back ............... thought I'd find a use for it some day.

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

At Lowes they also have a heavier gauge netting-like fence that looks like it can take alot of weight. It's 4 by 50 for 12.97 . Thats alot of trellisis. It's black, and at a distance almost invisible.

Masonry drill bit,eye hooks and heavy wire; these were planted mid February and get very little care. It's going to take a while to make a wall but we have a start. This house is in Southern California so it has a much longer growing season than Iowa.

Thanks, Osteole

Hopefully in July when I am there it will make for a better picture.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Not sure about in other places around the country, but our Lowes here give us a 1 year guarantee on all perennials, shrubs and trees (of course, not annuals or bi-annuals). So hold on to your receipts! :) We just bought some pretty pink lilacs from them and they are doing fantastic. I also find their prices very reasonable.

Prattville, AL(Zone 8a)

Kerrie, I love that 1 year guarantee thingy...I've only had to use it once but was nice to have my rose replaced free...

Also our Lowe's will price match and take off extra 10% if Home Depot beats there price's....man! ya can't go wrong there...

Carol :-)
