Rafaella has the most intense rose color. It is much darker than any other pinks I have. Would like to pass this color on to other pinks-especially a double!!!

I've got a confession to make ;) I just bought Barb's Rafaella that she had on ebay a few days ago. I'll get it this week...I'm sooo excited. Initially what caught my eye was the name Rafaella. My dads name is Rafael and as a bonus, the color is so lovely. I can't wait to see it bloom. Our anniversary is coming up but DH is not the type to think of buying me a plant so I bought it myself. Now, to figure out a way to hide the box from him when it arrives, he, he ;) LOL. Hopefully he'll be in the shower when the mailman comes to the door.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. The color is very distinct from any other brugs I grow. I am very excited about using it in some crosses, which I did today. Used it on Tiara, Creamsickle-and will use it on golden Lady in morning. I want that dark color on a double.
I also crossed Rafaella x Butterfly for the form. I love Butterfly's shape and would love to deepen the color.

Has all my favorites: color, tendrils and it's dropped it's flower down too! I wonder what it would do with EP? She has nice form & this color would look lovely on her I think, but of course I'm still so new they all look good.:>)

That is so beautiful Barb. Well mine bloomed and it is not Rafealla again :-( Mine has short tendrils and is not quite that dark pink. Probably another IP.
I did try Margie but it turned out I was duped and it was not a Rafaella but a Frosty! That is why CC is always ribbing me about Frosties. For awhile there I would buy fancy pink brugs and they would grow up to be Frosties. It was driving me nuts.
kell...how sad ! After all that time growing them and waiting for a flower! I can't imagine! At least now you have your new cross, a dark pink to make up for all the Frosties!
