Well, there's still quite a bit of work to do but...
the bar is open ;)
The Bar is Open :)
Set me up!!!!!!
Great Job! I would of coarse have to take a few cocktails to fully evaluate it!LOL!
Jody, that's so cool! What's your bar-top made of?
Come on up Root! Cocktails on the house for the "Grand Opening" LOL.
darius, the "roof"? or the bar counter top?
I bought the roof last fall. It was like 80% off and the gave me a deal on top of that to get it out of their way for Christmas stuff. My first thought of course was a "tiki bar" :)
The counter top is plywood that we laminated.
The bamboo isn't quite "dry" yet but I coundn't wait any longer. My poor DH went though quite a bit of trouble to get it for me, LOL. I won't tell the "horror" story, but he finally ended up getting it from a friend of a friend that had it growing on their property.
WAY COOL!!!!!! I love the masks "up top". Looks like your plant is edgeing his way inside for the first drink.*grin*
Pati
Jody, yes the bar countertop. Looks like you did a lot of good work there!
I had access to some large bamboo (maybe 2-3" in diameter) when I was in Asheville. Used it in many places around the garden and loved it.
I love it Jody! Is the bar where your greenhouse used to be?
Thanks everyone!
pati, the "masks" up top are lights ;)
susie, yes it's almost where the GH used to be. It's right off the deck. The GH is now in the middle of the lawn, it got expanded, LOL. You coming for a drink? ;)
Drinks on the house? How could anyone pass that up!! I'll drag out my Hawaiian shirt!! I gotta find a straw hat too!
Jody, wish I could. Maybe when I get caught up down here.
Looks great Jody. Hope you find the perfect bar stools to go with it.
Jody, I *love* it! I really like the grass skirt & the coconuts for the top! Too cute! Is that your gardening outfit ;0)
Susie when you get caught up, come on up! :) I would love some company and you just can't believe how different the yard looks since you were here last.
Thanks Lisa! hehehe, my sister bought me the "outfit". I figured it looked better on the bar rather than on me, LOL.
You can't see the monkey in the pics either, I'll have to get a pic of it. He's hanging from the roof, he's made of wire and moss and I planted him with brass buttons. Another gift from my sister, as well as the mask lights, LOL. What a great sister huh...
LOL....I just found this thread! I love the bar! You did a great job! I'm needing a bar...when you're finished travel to Oklahoma! LOL
Cute............that's definitely TROPICAL!!! Have many Happy Hours!!! Elaine
Could I get a margarita please?? It looks great Jody!
