Entomosporium Leaf Spot on a Frasier Photinia... what is probably going to kill my 40 bushes. Yes, this is on one of mine.

Oh Sweezel!!! What a shame....is there no treatment for it?

I am treating it with a fungicide, but the work entailed to even have a chance to save it will probably overwhelm me. All the leaves that are falling (probably a gallon trash bag a week) need to be removed immediately. Many of them are now in shade because of tree growth so they are even more susceptible. I am probably being overly negative, because it will probably take a few years. I am just preparing myself for the inevitable.

I am sorry that yours have this disease. :o( Almost all of my neighbor's plants have died and it has spread to mine as well, but only on a few branches which I have cut out. With as many plants as you have, it would be an overwhelming job to try to save them. Our plants have been here over 20 years with no problems with this before.

The three on the side of the house outside the back yard seem to be fine, but about 2/3rds of them in the back have signs of it. A big reason I wanted this house was the privacy they gave all around the back, so it is pretty disappointing. I dread having to remove all of them when they die, because they have pretty big trunks (or what ever you would call it on a shrub) and there are so many. Looking at things to replace them, I have not seen a single thing that will create the same kind of privacy while not enveloping the small back yard I have and not costing an arm & a leg. I wish I had lots of money - I would buy clumping bamboo. We will probably be here another 10 years so once I lose them, I will lose the privacy.

If you have to dig up the roots, that will be a massive job too. My heart goes out to you.
