Hey, How's everyone doing? I have been in the land of a broken computer. I do surf at work quite a bit, but forgot my Dave's signin. Hubby finally felt well enough to take it in to get it fixed. "Speakin" of Hubby, my social butterfly will be able to go back to work on Monday. His work has hired some temporary help for a couple of weeks in case he is a little more under the weather than usual. He is getting around a lot better now and his pain is more under control. His 50th Bday is coming up, so our daughters are planning away.
Our sheep shearer has moved on to other lines of work so I have to look around for another. I think he decided he can make more money breaking draft horses for people. Also , I am trying to wean a bottle lamb. He has been such a pet and doesn't appreciate being put in the pasture with his own kind.
I moved the cattle the other day and felt a great sense of pride in it. They will shamelessly follow me with a bucket of corn. Guess I didn't get a gate fixed and a few days later they were standing on the other side. So moved them back to their old pasture. Hope to fix the gate today and move them back again.
Certainly a busy time of year around here. Crops going in and hay ready to be cut. The unusally cool and rainy weather have put a stop to it the last couple of days. My yard was waist high. I finally got some of it cut last evening. My iris have been blooming beautifully despite the fact they are so weedy.
Hope to finish mowing the yard to and plant some sweet potatoes. Going to a graduation party tonight. That should be fun.
Happy Farming.
