Beach Morning Glory, Railroad Vine, Bayhops, Goat's Foot Creeper
Ipomoea pes-caprae

Called Beach Glories by locals, these seem to bloom year round at Matagorda Island Beach. The leaves resemble bay grape leaves. In some places there are hundreds of flowers.

Nice shot! You know the Lavender trumpet vine is a beautiful plant. I think in many ways better than the Mandevilla. I had a real problem with mine I put it in a 15 gal container and it wouldn't grow, but as you see it's going good, and I think we have similar climates so you will like it's hardiness. Down as low as 20f I would like some seeds from that Mg. Wow! See you later.

I will look for seeds. The plant only grows in deep beach sand just a little above the high tide line. Our climate usually gets down to 30 degrees a couple of times in winter, but in late summer night temps do not go below 80. Daytime, up to a hundred. It is very humid most of the time here. August and September are almost unbearable, except late in the day for a couple of hours. Most of the year is delightful, if you don't mind a lot of cloudy days. It is similar to Bermuda, but the heat here is more uncomfortable.

What is your zone there. If you can find out(check zone map) go over to preferences and you can enter it. Except for the humidity it sounds like here.We have a neat delta breeze that drops us into the 60's or less at night even on the hot days.I have Blue Dawn. I like it because you get blue then they turn to this.

I thought I had seen all kinds of morning glories and here is a new one. The pink is so vivid and tres belle. Trois, have you ever seen the yellow morning glory, merremia aurea? It sounds as though where you are would easily grow this one too.

I have never seen one. Where can I get one?
Anything that like it wet should do well here.

Thanks, Trois

Here is a link and now that I read a little more maybe it wouldn't do as well as I thought as it is considered a desert plant and you said you get lots of rain. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=merremia+aurea&btnG=Goog
