Greetings from sunny So Cal (Los Alamitos, zone 10). I finally officially "joined" and I'm so glad I did. What a great site! I only wish I had an endless amount of time to look around. I'm a stay-at-home mom who keeps her sanity by digging in the dirt! My front yard is an ever-changing cottage garden, while the back is all tropicals. I'm addicted to buying new and different plants. Would love to hear from other addicts!
Another new SoCal member
Greetings fom San Diego! Welcome to Dave's. there are getting to be more and more of us in southern CA. Hooray! There is a plant sale at Huntington gardens this weekend!
Welcome, I am a newbie too!! This is a great site. I live in Arizona, but I grow some tropicals (plumeria, orchids).
jenna - welcome from new york. you will love this place
Welcome from Iowa. I know you will just love the heck out of this place. It will become your second home in no time.
Hi Jena,
Glad to see you found the Welcome Mat to introduce yourself.
Since I've already welcomed you in an email, I just wanted to say hi again.
Donna
Welcome from the canyonlands of Utah. My cottage garden is an everchanging scene, too. Mostly what does well spreads and those fussy ones take a dive and THEN comes the best part lQQking for new plants. Then the hard part, the time to get 'em in the ground. And then evenins wandering Dave's garden when it's too dark outside to play in the dirt. Blooms.
Welcome from Iowa! Stayed in your town last Thurs. night!
Kooger???? You were out here last week???? Why didn't you say something, I would love to have met you somewhere. I only live about 10 miles from Los Al.
You bad girl...next time let me know, K?

Hi Donna, oops, I goofed! We stayed in Mesa, AZ on Wed. night. Left town about 2 pm Thurs. I was reading plantnutz town, not jenawenna's. :)
Ok Kooger, I forgive you. :-)
Donna
hello from San Frenando Valley. I am new too :-) Isn't this site the best!
One more welcome from Iowa. love the variation in your gardens. I try my hand at a few tropicals, mostly EE because they tend to give the garden such a lush feeling that few other plants can deliver.
Welcome from VA! We are newbies too to DG...what's growing now in sunny CA? Keep up the Dirt Work...it will indeed save your sanity!! I can relate since I'm a mother of 3 grown children and one that is almost grown...put the little ones to work and play in the garden too...builds temperment and patience (though my sons might disagree!!!).
Thanks everyone for such a warm welcome! It's comforting to know that there's a huge group of people out there that understand me when I admit to spending hours in the garden and lots of time and $ finding that unique or neglected plant. Now I have something to do when it's too dark to be outside in the garden......I'll be checking out DG's website and chatting with new friends!
