Is this a Y or is it deformed? Its from a seed that I started the end of January and the plant is about 3' tall planted in afternoon shade. Looks like it has y'd, but I'm anxioulsy awaiting you experts to jump in and set me straight :)
Ecuador Pink X Pink Beauty
Looks so nice and sure looks like it is trying to 'Y', huh?
Thank you, LadySwan! Boy, I'm hoping!
I'm too green to have an opinion but it surely looks like it's trying to 'Y' to me - I surely hope it is, good luck!!!
Check the leaves. After the plant Ys the leaf bases are subequal. See how noticible it is in this picture... http://www.americanbrugmansia-daturasociety.org/floralleaf.jpg Before the Y they are equal.
CORRECTION: Its a Pink Beauty x Ecuador Pink Seedling by Bonnie Vaughn. Sorry for the error :)
WOW! That makes it definitely a Y !!!! That's really quick. You must have taken extra special care of them!
Its got to be that stuff I feed them LOL! Plus, they must really like the place I've planted them. I have a couple of others that are about that size, and hopefully not far behind in growth...
Gretchen, the 'sub-equal' thing is what my grand discovered on my tree brug. I SAW a sub-equal leaf on your plant. Please be advised that you are going to have buds!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!! See what we can do when we all work together...
PS - I got my degree in brugs on the internet, B & F, to be specific!!
Well, I'm so glad to know exactly what to look for now! Yes, this is a fun place, and we all learn together, and have fun doing it!
Crossing my fingers it turns out to be a keeper.
Wow Gretchen!!! Congratulations! Hope you and Bonnie get somthing special!
Can't wait to see what you get Gretchen. I bet there are tiny buds there already. Take a real close peek! So girl.......what did you feed them to Y so early???
Thanks Kell and Shelly and Donna! I'm sure hoping for something pretty, especially for Bonnie.
I'm still feeding the same stuff (seaweed, molasses, SuperThrive, H202), only now I've begun adding Medina Hasta Grow, an organic fertilizer that is formulated for alkaline soil. I also gave them all a shot of iron last week. They all look healthy except for the bug bites...
Oh right! If all your bruglings flower soo early, we all will be stocking up on the molasses! LOL. It would be great to get them going so early!
