How long are you keeping seedlings under lights?

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

My baby seedlings are just beginning to get their first real leaves and are about 1 1/2" high....just wondering, when I can take them out from under the florescent lights? Some of them are not this far along & they are all in the same container. So would I pot up the larger ones first? and remove them, or just wait until they are all up?

The ones growing the fastest are:

Ecuador Pinkx sdlg (ursulinexcuba 2)-Thanks poppysue!

Actually I need to look up ursuline and cuba 2 !

Edited to read cuba 2

With the longer days now , i would pot them up soon as they are ready and have one or 2 sets of true leaves. ( I put them in my portable GH plants stand outdoors.) Or any place the lil ones will be safe but not in full sun only shade and out of the wind to start with.
Artificial light is good for low light conditions in the winter now we have sunlight for them to grow in =))

scooterbug....thanks for your advice. I have just the spot for that ! I did put my newly germinated datura there, but thought the lights would make for a healthier plant ! So glad to know they will be OK in their light needs, outdoors!

Sun is always better when the days are long enough.

Margie, The seedling is Ursuline x Cuba 2. It's a pale peachy color with long tendrils. Here's a pic with the Ecuador Pink

I'm glad to see you're getting some germination.

I've had some of these germinate too, moved the first ones outside today. I'll post some photos later. Linda

Ursuline is a white or Cream color and Cuba is a versi peach type. I expect there will be a lot of white babies from these seeds. But... who knows? Maybe there will something special to come from them.
