Please Welcome Two New Members from San Jose!

Northern California, CA

A warm welcome to Calif_Sue and lilystorm

These are gardeners/relatives/friends of picturelady all of whom I had the pleasure of meeting last weekend!

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

The pleasure was all ours, believe me! I do hope someday I can tour that inspiring garden of yours again, this time with my camera! (Hate it when I forget to take it along) I am off today to take my visiting in-laws and my parents to the UC Berkley Botanical Gardens. If I get some good shots I will post them. Took them to Filoli in Woodside on Tues along with the Elizabeth Gamble Garden in Palo Alto. Have nice nice shots to share from there.

Welcome to this great site. I am so envious of you both, that you have been able to view Candy's gardens. I hope she has inspired you to be active here at DG.

Hi, you must have had a great time visiting Candy's garden. Her pictures are great, in person it must be breath taking.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Tracy & Sue,
So happy that you decided to join DG after being inspired by Candy last Sat.! I know this is a busy time for Sue, so we won't see too much of her this week! And Tracys husband is home and probably is monitoring her computer time! I can say that because he is my son!

See you again next week Candy! I feel so fortunate to have met you! and been invited to your house and garden again! A dream come true! Looking forward to Wed. and I know Sue and Tracy are too! This time we will have 3 cameras working!

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Sue from Iowa LOL

I'm just seeing this thread for the first time! Thanks for all the welcomes. I sure wish I had more time to spend in the forums.

Seeing Candy's garden was truly inspiring. It made me want to find out more about all varieties of plants and really diversify my garden.

Hi Tracy, I have been having too much fun checking all the different forums & features here, uploaded tons of photos and info on the Database, you can see them in the Database Pictures on page 15-18 http://davesgarden.com/f/pdb/
(well as of right now anyways, it sure moves fast with new additions!)
How are your cuttings doing?

San Jose, CA

Hi Sue,

I'll have to check out your photos. They are always the best!

My cuttings are doing well. I finally received my book on plant propogation and it had lots of tips for rooting cuttings. The non-succulents are all in pots (vermiculite and peat moss), enclosed in gallon zip lock bags. The bags are opened slightly to allow air in. This is supposed to prevent the plant leaves from losing too much moisture. Hope it works!

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Welcome to you both from your neighbor to the north. This is such a great place to meet new people, post and see pictures, get inspired, and spend too much time when I should be doing something else. All for about 4 cents a day, such a deal!!

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

MaryE....You are so right on all of that you said...I especially have trouble with the "spending too much time, when I should be doing something else". It must be my addictive personality! Same thing that got me collecting daylilies and now brugs!

Tracy, I am going to try your suggestion with my cuttings from Candy. I think it will be better then the jar of water they are in right now!
