We have spent endless time and energy and unfortunately some $$ on a project which has gone awry!
Our kitchen garden is enclosed and quite large. We built beds edged with cedar and laid professional grade landscaping fabric and topped with 3 inches of pea gravel for the paths. The beds are all on a drip system we did ourselves and works great. The veggies are all in and taking off.
The problem is the nut grass that has immediately come through the fabric! It is not suffocating as we had been told. I do not want to use weed killer- we have always kept a pretty chemical free garden. I tried to burn it with a propane torch but the gravel is too deep to get all of the plant.
Can anyone recommend a plastic that we can put down that will be absolutely impervious to EVERYTHING because nut grass is just so awful. It can be anything- something used on the space shuttle would be fine :) If I can't lay something down soon, I am going to have start mowing! No joke!
help- nutgrass making me nutty!
