Trimming my Hibiscus, Cuttings for You?

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

I just received a tip from my gardening tipster that I should be trimming my hibiscus back now. I have 2 and they are:

1. Double Red
2. Double Peach

Anyone for some clippings? They are easy to root, just put in a glass of water and watch them take off.

Postage or trade is good.

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Sure Marclay, postage is fine. You can get one of the $3.85 stamps that will cover a 1lb box. Any choice of colors or how many?

My address is in Dave's address exchange, I will post that link above. Please just include your name, address and DG name when you send it.

I'd like some of both
I have a double orange/yellow(no name ),variegated (with red bloom),and regular red to trade if you want

I would love some of both colors. I can trade cuttings of a double lavender Rose of Sharon or do postage. I am preparing cuttings of the ROS for some trades this week so I can get these out tomorrow or Friday.

Sheila,

Been watching for a posting or an email. We are leaving to go to the Tennessee Roundup/plant swap and for a weeks vacation. We will return on 5/26. Although we have someone at the house to take care of packages and things, I won't be there to return a box to you until then.

CrestedChik, I mailed your box yesterday and emailed you about this as well.

I believe everyone else expressing an interest in these has been in touch with me.

I will see ya when I return, and thank you all for the trades. It's always such fun.

How you do clipping to make root that, I just got 2 Hibiscus

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Good Morning Redrose,

Simply put in a glass of water on your windowsill. Change the water every couple of days. It takes quite a while but it does work.

Then when you plant them in a pot, keep them away from your dogs.

Molly! I just saw this post. Do you have any cuttings left? I would LOVE to have both, but only can do postage. I don't have many perennials to trade yet.
Thanks!

Are there any left? I would love some of either color!
I can only do postage..
Thanks

Yvonne & Val, go ahead and send me the $3.85 stamp and I'll ship some off in the 1lb box. Give me your real name and DG name and what for when you send it to me okay? I sorted out the clippings and took my best guess separating the red from peach, but no guarantees. Let me know if this is not okay.

I butchered the bushes yesterday, probably nipped them in the bud, but they have the rest of the summer to recuperate.
I also cut my fountain grass way back to the ground too, they were hoggin my canna lily space.

Redrose, when I do it, I clip off many of the leaves. I've seen it written that it gives the plant more time to concentrate on growing roots by removing all the leaves, but I leave a couple leaves on so it looks a little prettier than a stick in a glass. I'm rooting some gardenia sticks now. The plant has thrown off all the leaves it doesn't want and the sticks are now starting new little buds. I hope this helps you.
