Tequila Sunrise

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Didn't realize how pretty this flower is. As it ages it turns to a very deep golden color with orange highlights on the skirt. the photo was taken the second day.

Very pretty picture Barbara. Is TS very similiar to GQ? I know you probably have both and would know. Does one produce more blooms than the other and are the fragrances different?

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

I don't have Gypsy Queen. I was going to photograph an older flower on the Tequila Sunrise but it poured down rain. Will try to photograph in the next few days. As TS ages it changes to a wonderful bright gold with orange highlights.

This is very pretty. Nice picture, did it ever stop raining?
I guess I'll just have to put this one on my list.

Gee, I think I had this one but might have decided I had too many yellows in on eof my few strong moments! Sure looks like a lady.

They way I understood .... Tequila Sunrise is supposed to be yellow and Gypsy Queen is yellow but changes to a deeper orangy color. I got mine from Eric before they were named (DxS L... the other one was DxS R) Mine was marked DxS L, and that's the one that was named Tequila Sunrise. But after my plant bloomed it turned dark orange. So... I think Eric might have got it mixed up when he mailed it out. Therefore, I changed the name tag from TS to Gypsy Queen.

Are you confused yet?

To make matter worse, I mailed a bunch out last fall marked as TS. Did you get yours from me, Barb?

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Poppysue, I may have gotten mine from you. You have throughly confused me.So, mine is Gypsy Queen???? This is one of Eric's hybrids? To really confuse you--mine changed to a deep golden yellow not orange. Will have to wait until I get more blooms- rained again and old blooms are beaten down.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

My GQ has a little darker orange rim kind of like Jean pasko does. It just started blooming today so i will let you know what it does. I have both. Got them from Bonnie(GQ) and Chele(TS)

Donna, maybe you can take some comparison shots for us. I loaded a bunch of pictures of mine into the ABADS brug database http://www.abads-database.org/databaseimages/index.php?path=./Gypsy%20Queen/
