Welcome to Dave's Brigitte! I can tell you love it already. I'm not too good with roses but I do love looking at them!!! My first passion are the true lilies. See you around the garden.

Welcome to Davesgarden, I'm glad you found us. Besides the rose forum I'm sure you will find many others that interest you.

Welcome in. I've got 13 kinds of roses on my lot and about a zillion perennials, some of which do magnificently and some which struggle thru. Using Dave's I hope to improve the strugglers lot in life and maybe they'll thrive too. See ya round the forums.

Hi Brigitte. Sorry I didn't get here sooner. However, since we have already talked, I don't feel as bad. LOL! Sending a belated "WELCOME" to Daves Garden. Talk soon.

Hi Brigitte,

I have just joined too. I am also new to gardening. My mom has a green thumb and I hope I do too.

Like you I love roses (a gift from mom) and I stitch. I hope to grow some roses and lots of other plants. I live in a very warm (hot) area of Southern California, can you recommend a good rose for a beginner? I hate to kill things so I am trying to start with plants that are good for beginners. :-)

Thanks for your help,

Allison

Hi alliymouse..welcome to Dave's....
There is a very accomplished gardener named "happenstance" who lives in California. Put her name in the "search the forums" box and you will see all the wonderful roses she grows, as well as many other beautiful plants.

I just bought an "ice plant" for the first time after seeing hers look so beautiful.

Happy Gardening,

Hello Brigitte,

I am new, too.

I went to Southwest Harbor to visit a friend of mine last year. I was so jealous of the fabulous gardens of Maine. Is it the environment or just the fact that most people in Maine could garden?
