Hi! I was wondering if there were any growers of Jicama (mexican Potato) around, and if they had any information on how to grow properly? Pest prevention, etc... Thanks in advance!
Jicama?
Did a quick Google search and found quite a few sites....this one looked the best.

I like Jicama, but use it so seldom I've never thought to grow it.
It sounds like a lovely vine like plant with nice fragrant purple flowers....can't find a single picture of one however.
I think this is it =)

Thanks Scooter....that's pretty :-)
Looks almost like a bean plant ,huh Marc ?
A lot like it....some of the reading I was doing suggests the vine is indeed a member of the bean family.....as pods and beans are produced (as well as the jicama tubers)

JICAMA
BY DR. MARTIN L. PRICE
Published 1983
Jicama (Pachyrrhizus erosos) is a short-lived perennial, often grown as an annual, leguminous climbing vine, which during short days flowers, produces long pods, and develops tuberous roots.
Thanks for all your help, I think I will try to grow some! I will let you know and send some your way! Thanks again!
