I am new to growing brugs and daturas and have recently acquired several nice cuttings. (Some named and some not) They are sitting in their respective jars of water for rooting. I notice that on some that there are white "dots" at the bottom. Is it time to place them in potting medium? Should I did them into rooting hormone before placing into the potting medium?? Also, How quickly do they grow? How soon typically can I expect it to bloom, Next year, this year??
Thanks,
Lindenlady
I have a couple of questions..
lindenlady....welcome to the brug forum at DG! This is a great place to find all kinds of help and make great friends! I'm not an expert.....just started this brug addiction last summer, so I will let others answer your questions! But so far, it sounds like you're ont he right track! Welcome and Enjoy!
Brinda :)
Welcome to the brug forum at Davesgarden. These 'white' dots will be new roots soon. You may pot those cuttings into soil. They need warmth and higher humidity until they have made enough roots which provide the cutting with water.
WELCOME Lindenlady! Well you just got advice from the best so I will just say glad you are here and we would love to hear how they do!
Welcome to Daves and the brug forum. You can find answers to all your questions here just by asking. Hope to see pictures of your babies this summer. We LOVE pictures.

Welcome Lindenlady :)
You'll find you came to the right place when you came to DG.
It looks as if I am going to have to learn to do a Journal...I have so many photos I would love to share...Here is one of a Brug that I got from Thompson & Morgon over 15 years ago for my mother.... It was a really tiny little chunk of wood and it grew.... to my amazement.... The mother plant has been given away and this is just a cutting from it that I jammed into the pot.... I couldn't fit it all into the shipping carton...Well.... I just have a real tough time tossing anything...and actually just left this one outside to fend for itself...And then that is when I noticed leaves growing.... wow... so I brought it back up near the house and it has just now been placed back outside outside after spending the winter in our sunroom. It bloomed for me last year....About 8 blooms, but that was enough for me.... I want more !!! So, I cleared out my sunroom to make room for more plants... Still need to clear out some more craft stuff....
Anyway, I do have a bit of a question again...It has growth below the Y...... should I pinch them off, or will they perhaps branch out and serve a usefull purpose??
Oh and the cat is as old as the brug.... poor ol thang...her name is Sweetie...and she is too..
