Have Coleus 'Inky Fingers'

Guilford, CT(Zone 7a)

I have a few baby Inky Fingers to trade. I am looking for other Coleus varieties to make a Coleus garden. I will do trades for other plants, too!

Hi - (I hope I'm not posting twice - my message disappeared.) I just purchased my first two coleus plants for the garden last week - two dark ones for my "chocolate" garden spot. I'll have to wait until morning to check the names. I have never seen inky. Are they more burgundy or more brownish? And - will you have to take them indoors for the winter?

I have a few coleus I would trade for inky fingers. Also would love some of your hen and chicks.

earthtosylvia - Mine are more maroon in color, like the babies. The Mom plant spent the Winter inside, so it is kind of green for the variety. It will get more dark red as it gets acclimated to the outdoors again. They are not Winter hardy, but it grew great inside over the Winter. It is also easy to root cuttings. I am looking for any other variety of Coleus...
Sandy - Hens & Chicks are on their way to you... I can send out Inky Fingers in another package for you!

JR - "Dark Star" and "Brown Sugar Drop" are the two I have. They are small new plants but you can e-mail me precisely how to try and root some cuttings and I will give it a whirl. How big do they have to be to travel? 'Sylvia

Oh my gosh I didn't realize it was you. Yes I love Coleus. We will work out another trade or something. I will e-mail you.
Blessings,

Gotcha, Sandy!
earthtosylvia - I just clip off a piece, about 2 inches long, & place in water. If you cut too short, it won't take, so don't stress your babies... I have about 20 or so rooting to share. I like to trim the Mom to keep it bushy. I tried to make a standard out of one last Summer, but it died over the Winter. I guess the compact varieties don't work well that way. Live & learn!
