I finally found some Passiflora's locally to add to the collection! Today I acquired a new P. Vitafolia(my wife killed my last 1), P. Coccinea, a new/different P. Incense, and a new Lavender Lady!!! I finally have 3 red passiflora's blooming. I was afraid I'd never be able to rebuild my Passiflora collection, I now have more than I ever imagined!!! Thanks to Clare, Tropicman, rylaff and my thrifty shopping trip today, I now have 16+ different Passiflora's!!! I'm high on life baby;).
Now if I could get them all blooming, I'd be in heaven.
Just when I think I have a nice collection, I find so many more Passiflora's I MUST FIND. If anyone comes across any of the following Passiflora's, PLEASE let me know what I need to do in order to acquire them. I'll beg, borrow, pay, sell my kid or whatever I need to do to get them. Well not my kid;)
Pura vita
RubyGlow(I had 1 cut but it didn't make it)
Capsularis
Antiquiensis
Gracilis
Citrina
Sunburst
Coral Seas
I'll never find these for sale around here for sure, I've been looking for a few years and asked every garden center owner if they ever get them. Heck most of them don't have a clue what I'm talking about.
How many of you have P. Vitafolia? This is my second 1 and it's uglier then my 1st one. Just what does this Passiflora like to eat and what kind of light does it like? So far it's the only Passion flower that I haven't figured out how to tickle it just right.LOL I also have a few newer cuttings I've yet to flower but I'm confident those won't be a problem. With all my other Passion flower's, they really didn't need much fertilizer to thrive. I'm thinking the Vitafolia doesn't like the amount of sun I've been giving them. I know most of them just need a loose, well draining soil with a little sand.
Tropicman. We don't live THAT far apart for the weather to make this huge of a difference yet you have blooms galore. Granted, most of mine are new cuttings and haven't had a chance to get established. I reckon I just need to be more patient, that hasn't ever been 1 of my strong points.LOL
Well it's time to pot up these new babies. If anyone has any input on possible special needs or wants my new babies will need to thrive, please share your experience with me. I have a fairly green thumb but the shade of green isn't the right color IMO. I need to fertilize my brain with more Passiflora care tips other than the obvious.
Thanks everyone, JD
OH BTW...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all of our DG mommies out there. Just in case I don't get a chance to wish you well tomorrow.
YEEHAA!More new Passiflora's!
Congratulations on your score, Jeff!

I just got my order yesterday from GrassyKnoll. I bought four but I can only think of three of them right now.
'Passiflora aurantia', 'P. Indigo Dream', and 'P. Lady Margaret'. Nice plants. I've ordered from this place before and have never been disappointed.
What is your new/different P.incense called? People have been asking about mine and I would like to turn them on to the one you have if it is right.
These labels are so vague. They both are tagged "P. Incense" and under that 1 said "blue" and the other right next to it didn't have a color name on it. The guy said he thought 1 was blue and the other is purple. Time will tell and I'll post pics ASAP.
Cool!
