Very nice dahlia_lover. Love the colour. I would so like to try dahlias but in zone 2 I'm not sure they would produce many blooms before frost. Can they stand light frosts at all? Maybe if I tried the short varieties I might have better luck...Linda

Very pretty dahlia,dahlia_lover. Yes, Broots, you could try some shorter varieties in pots. They will take a light frost. Maybe you could even start them indoors for a longer season.

Thanks Lenjo. I will definitely try them in pots next year & I will start them early indoors. There are so many beautiful dahlias out there. They have been on my wish list for the past two years....Linda

well broots one way you can grow them, plant them in pots with good drainage holes then dig a hole in the ground and then place the pot in the ground and whenever you want to switch out plants..all you need to do is in reality is just change out pots..

Thanks so much dahlia_lover. Sounds like a good idea.
