Flea treatments for my Blue Heeler, SAFE?

Does anyone have info on the flea drops for dogs , like Advantage etc, that pertain to any problem in Blue Heelers?
Rio needs some help and I'm not sure about putting the drops on her.
I had a Rough Collie that they made very sick and just wanted to check before I dose her with them....
