Two questions, re: taskbar and font size...

Lost all my data. Arrgghh! Now I can't get the font size on the web to stay at "large", it keeps reverting back to tiny font every time I close the browser (Windows XP, home edition, IE 6).
My taskbar is also now two rows high (the best way I can think of to explain it). I have a bunch of shortcuts down by the start button, but instead of them being hidden til I need them, they are all showing, making the open tasks be in a new row. Does that make sense?
