I have bought these Blue water tabs that are supposed to give the water a slight blue appearance. I thought about trying it, but only using 1/2 of what it calls for. Has anyone else done this? And, if so what did you think? Did you like it, or were there any problems?
Thanks,

Blue Water Tabs?
I have used the black vegetable dye. It makes the water dark and limits the amount of light... which helps slow algae growth. It looks deep and mysterious :) I've seen a place with a fountain that had the blue water. I didn't care for it too much... it looks too fake for me. I prefer a natural looking pond... but everyone has different taste.
I think the dye eventually dissipates. The black dye last about a month for me. If you try it, and don't like it... it won't be the end of the world. It will eventually go away.
I'd avoid it if at all possible. Try and use as little chemicals as possible in your water. (if you have fish). We had a discussion about this on my aquarium forum. They might think the dye is safe now, but it in fact could potentially harm your fish. :(
Thanks, What I did was only added a 1/4 of what it called for because I wanted to see my fish, so it is a light shade of blue. Thanks for all the info!
