This is too strange. I thought your list sounded familiar so I went back to Gardenweb and found the same post with the same haves and wants but 2 different profiles. One is a mother of 2 with grandkids or something and the other one on Gardenweb is a father of 2 girls. Both live in Maine and are disabled. Are you related?

Maine, I sent you mail again (hope u got it) I'm sorry, I must be confused, I thought you were offering seed's for trade in exchange for thing's such as postage stamp's, birdhouse's, plastic bag's, etc.
My offer still stands for the list of seed I sent you, I will galdly trade you postage stamp's for the few seed I ask about. If this is not what you wanted to do, Please let me know and again I'm sorry if I misunderstood your offer.

Budgielover, I agree with you there is something strange about this 'coincidence'.

Both have the same seed-list, both worked 2 days on it and both posted at the same time. Now if that's not coincidence .....
I do have a page at the GW as well, with the same name (Ursula), which happens to be my name, and there is nothing wrong with that. I do not recall Dave ever asking for exclusive membership.
If it's a matter of privacy, all you have to do is not give any info at all. Changing gender just for privacy seems weird to me. However, there was a person at GW that did have different pages with different names and different gender; this person cheated almost each and every trader at the GW. Hopefully, this is just one more coincidence.

No one said you cheated anyone. I was simply curious if you were the same one as I wanted to do a trade with the Woody on GW and did not want to duplicate my trades. If you were the same person, I'm sure you have your reasons for different identities and it doesn't matter to me. I participated in a round robin hosted by "Woody" and was very happy with it except that it was pretty well picked over by the time I got it but that was not the host's fault. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression.
Did anyone consider that maybe someone cut and pasted maineroses list to use for their own purposes on garden web? Just a thought.

Robin, I re-read this whole thread a few times trying to find out what hurt you so much. Honestly, I do not find it. Maybe it's my poor command of the English language (3rd language for me) that does not allow me to be as sutile(?)/diplomatic as a native speaker, but all I did was state some facts.
Then I made a mental exercise asking what would I have done in your case. Well, given the facts I would have taken budgielover's and Ursula's posting as an alert rather than an offense. If somebody did something against you, this one would be Michael (woody) for using a list that took you two days to compile and for unknown reasons publishes this list on another site. Well, I would have contacted this person to find out if this was sort of a joke or whatever, but not blame people that detected the problem for hurting you.
The case I mention in the last paragraph of my first posting is true. This person is from California and trades in the GW. When I started trading (1998), her name was Mia. When she cheated me for 50% or more of the seeds I had to trade (and I had a lot!) her name was Peter Nakamura. Of course, at that time I did not know it was one and the same person. When I reminded her to send me her part of the deal I got some really offensive letters from her. Then I made some inquiries among my friend-traders I found out she had a lot of names and pages at the GW and that she uses to cheat everybody, except Spike's friends. She is still 'trading' under a flower nickname.
I am human and I make mistakes and I am willing to apologize when I realize I made one. However, in this case, I do not feel I made a mistake.
"Peter Nakamura" was on this site for a while, too a long time ago, and under a different "nom de web" (at least I guess that's what you'd call the internet equivalent of "nom de plume" ;o) There were a lot of people who made excuses for him, and tried to explain away the bad trades through a series of unfortunate incidents that beset him, financial and physical health problems, etc... But most people quickly wised up and refused to trade with him/her (whoever he/she is.)
maineroses, I was alerted to this thread yesterday and I've been watching it, and all I can say is when the exact same preface and (a very extensive and unique) trade list appears on another site on the same day, posted by someone whose member's profile page is quite similar to yours, except for the gender switch, it does tend to raise some questions. No one is saying you've done anything wrong, but if this person ISN'T you, but has stolen your seedlist and online persona, you may want to advise Spike and ask him to investigate the matter.
If it IS you, then I can't think of any reason to deny it. A simple "yes that's me - my profile is different over there for personal privacy reasons" would suffice.
I do hope we can amicably and quickly resolve the matter, put everyone's mind at ease, and get back to the fun business of gardening ;o)
robin watch your mail... im sending some envelopes and still looking for that special birdhouse... get past the above issue..
and like daves says,, get back to the business of trading..
there will always be a few that wont trade with you....
