Terra cotta

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

I need input here =(
........... I have some 'special' large beautifully glazed pots I've been saving for sumpin special. You think maybe my Snowbank & Maya would do OK in them ?
..................My concern is the 1 large drain hole in the bottom of these pots, I'm afraid if all the roots go out of that one hole it will either ruin the pot or be impossible to sever the roots w/o damage to the pot.

Have any of you used this type of container successfully ? I hope !

TIA,

I think Kell uses big terra cotta pots with a big saucer underneath. If you use a saucer it will keep the roots from growing out the hole... and it might help with watering when it's dry.

I do, I do!!! And it has worked great. I put a huge saucer under and when it is very hot I make sure the water fills up in it. Cuts down on my watering. I put half a donut of that Pool Dunk in each one, so I don't get mosquitos breeding in the water!

for real big pots, 2 or 4 bricks works mighty well.
