The pond went from this...
I don't think the pond plants liked the salty contaminated water. It doesn't appear that many of them came back.
It's coming....
Wow, Jody, your pond looks great! Nice, restful place.
Jody, It must be heartbreaking to have to rebuild so much... but it looks like you are making fantastic progress!
Love the old man/nature wanderer!
jody, love the old man. where did you get him? belinda
It looks great! You'd never know you were flooded so bad.
What a comeback from your flooding! It looks great. How'd your sister make your rock? Does she use a dremel or ???. Neat!
Thanks everyone!
Kim my sister makes memorials (grave stones) and I really don't know much about the process. I know she has used dremels on very small rocks, but large ones get sand blasted or some such. She has a whole shop full of "rock" making stuff ;) The paint is lithochrome (sp?). The rock needs no special treatment or care.
Looks like those poor tough little comets that survived the flood have met their end :( (The koi swam away in the flood)The heron and cranes have been in my pond while I've been gone. DH said he tried to keep an eye, but was at work most of the time. He said 3 mallards spent the night in it one night. He got up, still dark, looked out and there they were... sleeping in the pond!!! That !@$#@!# cat just laid on the deck and watched! So now I have no more fish :(
