I ordered 2 brugs from eBay a couple of months ago - an Isabelle and a "coral wildform" - whatever a "wildform" is! Both plants were about a foot tall when I got them, and most all of the leaves fell off of them leaving only the tops. Both of them have lots of shoots growwing from where the leaves fell off. I don't think either of them have produced a "Y" - and I am getting impatient! The question is: should I snap off these shoots, and maybe try to root them? This one is Isabelle.
Newbie question
They look just great. Often the bottom leaves fall off. I am trying to remember if Monika said something about all those little leaves coming out just a week or 2 ago. I can't remember, so I will answer you from my own knowledge which is limited! You may have a longer wait for buds.
I do not see a Y but your pictures are covering the tops. If the cuttings were from below the Y you may have a longer wait than if they were taken from above. Look also for uneven leaf ends where each half of the leaf meets the stem at the bottom. They become uneven when it has decided to bud.
I would leave all the good leaves. I believe the more leaves the more energy your plant can make to grow.
Patience. Those look so good I am sure you will get great blooms.
Great looking plants. Kell knows her stuff, so I'd just hang in there and wait for it all to happen. You will get blooms this summer if you are fertilizing regularly and give them plenty of light. It looks like you have collected a few more since the original eBay purchase.
they look great....your wind must not have been as strong as ours here, i put mine out and the wild winds just shredded them...maybe it will toughen them up :)
Yeah ! What the heck is Wildform Coral ??? Sounds intriguing =)
Hey xv!! My biggie (the one I got at your party!!) got a bit torn up, but didn't have the babies out - except for the one I planted in the ground (was so nice to have so many to be able to do that, tyou root!) which is having a hard time anyway. Come over for cafe, xv!!! My gardens are getting awesome - sweet william blooming everywhere!!
They look good to me. Just be patient.
