Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

can i use avid on my peaches for insects?

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

I don't spray my peaches, but then I'm not into sprays nor how the peaches look. I don't mind if some of them are bug-eaten.

As for avid, last time I read up on it ...do not use on food crops.

If you want to spray I'd go w/a dormant oil in early spring, followed by Bt for any worm life.

Springsong, I just consulted the local extension office about my 4 trees. their dropping peaches like well you know what I mean. Worms in the tree trunks and peaches, I was using sulfur, it wasn't working, we finally had to resort to stronger sprays, started using the fruitilome fruit tree spray it didn't touch the peaches, went to malathion, which I hate, but it's working, can't eat the peaches for 7 days, I also use liquid 7 on the peaches, I like it better than the malathion, but don't spray the 7 on apple trees, it causes the apples to fall off. malathion was only like 5 % in the fruitalome tree spray, and 50% in the malathion spray. I've always tried to go natural, but dangit I just can't if I want peaches at all, cause they all every one dropped off the trees last year. Iwant peaches. If youbuy them in the orchard they are sprayed as well. hope this works. for you.
