Has anyone grown Passiflora violacea Form 3?

Brown City, MI(Zone 5a)

I purchased violacea Form 3 from Brushwood Nursery ............. haven't gotten it yet.

Has anyone grown it? The picture looks like it was a red shade.

I've only had the caerulea ............ purchased last year from the same place. It was loaded with buds twords the end of the season and then strong winds blew it over and none of them opened. It never did recover and bloom .... I have it inside, it's surviving, but doesn't look very good. Would you suggest cutting it back? I think it should be repotted.

I also have a P. Bellotti, I think ......... It was simply marked Passion Vine at a local Nursery store last year. This one didn't get real big for me, but I purchased it late in the year. It's gotten quite large inside this winter, but didn't bloom.

Below is a picture of it. Do you think it is Bellotti?

I'm afraid I'm rambling .............. this probably should be two or three different post.

Yes, that looks like Bellotti.

I grew Violacea Form #3, started a bunch for trades, easy to grow and bloom, then needed more room so gave last one away. Here is pic.

I have Victoria it's a similar form. There are pictures in the Database and facts about Form 3 My plant flowers as I watch it, like 15 min., maybe because it,s hot right now. Here's a pic. This is right after it was born, you can see the petal claw, as I call it on the ends of some of the petals.

Hibiscus and Monterey,

Thanks for posting the pictures. It's a beauty, I think I made a good decision.

I have promised myself I would buy one new one a season ......... I think I can stick to that if I don't see them locally. LOL

I'd get more, but I don't know where I would keep them in the winter. When I get that greenhouse I've been dreaming about that won't be a problem.
