Congratulation, picturelady! Your new plants are large and healthy. They look great!!!

Thank you monika...I hope they do well ! I am getting to just love them! My biggest problem is wanting to add more and more! At least with zone 9 weather I think I can leave them outdoors in a protected area.

Whine, I want mine to look like that!
Looks like you got a green thumb, Picturelady!
Don't you just get all excited growing these things, or is just me? Bj

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Bj...I just recieved them in the mail yesterday...thank you for the compliment, but it wasn't my green thumb... it was T.J.'s from Country Gardens!

Edited to add: Bj I get extremely excited to see anything that I plant grow...from seeds to plants...you name it! I can hardly sleep at night I am so excited by it all. I tell my husband every morning, I have never been so happy in all of my life! I love it !

picturelady, they are wonderful, healthy, big plants!!! Your Maya has leafs, my poor baby arrived bald, but has added some green, I think she likes it here!! This will be fun, watching each others plants grow.
Might you have ordered seeds?? I did, but they weren't in my boxes, maybe they will be here today. When do you plan to start feeding yours???? And, what are you going to give them??? SLike

Sherry...I didn't order any seeds as I have some from poppysue and will be getting some from kell. I also have planted quite a few datura seeds. I am using the RW for many of them.
I planted sting beans in the RW and they came up in 2 days!
I did water them with the super thrive water I soaked them in...I am not sure when to start fertilizing. The miracle grow potting soil that I used with the supersoil had some fertilizer in it I think. I have been trying to get the Peters, 15-5-15 that I read recommended here, but have not been able to find it yet.
I do have a seaweed based fertilizer...Maxsea it is called and is 16-16-16. I wonder if I can use that? Anyone know? I do use it for houseplants...1/2 teasp. in a gallon of water every watering.

Picturelady, I seem to be like a little tug boat without a rudder, I hear about one thing and I think I'll try that, then someone else says something else and I decide to go that way. Then, I have the problem of having to order most stuff, doesn't seem like I've had all the ingredients for any one recipe, whew! I've made a list of the stuff I cannot get locally:

liquid seaweed
H202
Agri Molasses
Pure tea tree oil - might find a bottle I got for the dogs
Kirk's Castile soap
Cotton seed oil
salt peter/potassium nitrate
Nutri-boost
Oxy-Plus
Avid

I guess I'll spend a day searching for all the stuff on the internet, but that's a pain with my dial up. I did get Ironite and used it this week and I can tell a difference in the plants, my white rescue brug looks great and has buds! I have my very own cotton field and not a single drop of cotton seed oil and I'm amazed that I cannot find so many of these products in my area, AR, MS, LA, TN.

I feed my Goldens, human food, raw, where balance is achieved over time and each of their meals is different. I think that's what I'd like to do with the brugs, give them lots of variety in their food. So, I sorta wanna try several of the fert recipes. I'm one of those people that wants to try out any and every snake oil. I'm not one that thinks, if it ain't broken, don't try to fix it; IMO, just about any and ever thing can be improved and, if you don't try it, how will you ever know.

I'm off to shop, wouldn't it be great if I could find all that stuff at one site???!!!! SLike

Sherrylike, all I use is one fertilizer with all components. I have used for almost twenty years with top results.Once in a while, I give some extra Iron or Epsom salt when required.

You think it would work in my area???? What is the name of the fert??? I do use Epsom salt & Ironite and it was quickly obvious that both were good for my plants, across the board, not just the brugs. You have the gift of gardening talent and the temp. I have the energy and enthusiasm, but I do not have the talent and I'm just not sure about the temp, zone 8a is a LONG way from zone 5a. You are super nice to take the time to encourage a newbie like me. THANKS!!!!! SherryLike

Sherry said she is unable to find the following ingredients:

H202-------this is just plain old Hydrogen Peroxide ! You can find that in any drug or probably grocery store!

How are you doing locating the other items on your list?
