The Lynn Valley Garden Club is having a plant sale on May 8th from 10am to 2 pm. Club members donate wonderful plants from their gardens. The proceeds go to supporting the club and a bursary to the local Horticultural School.
Hope to see you there!
Lower Mainland Plant Sale
Darn its too far too drive. But it sounds like great fun. What are you donating??? Do they do mail order?
What plants are you donating to the sale Liz?
Way to go........Lizzie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How are your Morning Glories for the sale coming Elaine? Save one for me. Lilypon, last year I donated a few brugs so will do the same, maybe some Ears, mostly non hardy stuff. It's a good sale for perennials, lots of variety.
Sounds like there will be alot of variety there...I imagine you, Roselaine, and Sunrize, add lots of exotic interest to it. Take some pics with your digital I would love to see the set up. :)
I will bring it Pam, whether they give me enough time to take pics is another matter.
One of my favorite garden perennials is about to bloom in the garden. Crambe cordifolia, large plants, big clouds of blooms. When I found it originally 6 or 7 years ago I was so thrilled I bought 5 of them. Hadn't a clue about how big they are. lol, I'll take a pic in a day or two.
Looking forward to seeing them...our trees are just starting to bud out but have only seen a few early spring blooms.
Great Posting, Liz: I am wondering what Roselaine is doing on the web this morning (rose forum, of course) when her son is running in the Vanc Marathon today! Lilypon, I generally send the tropicals to an early afterlife, I may be contributing perennials, but we shall see. Must get them ready now so they don't look shocky! Liz kindly passed on a C. cordifolia to me and both it and my C. maritima look terrific so far, very happy in the new dock deck garden. You may read this layered seaweed, soil, manure, clay pellets, etc. on a rock. Wish you all could attend the sale.
She generously donated one to me! I just keep peeking at it, wondering what's in store! By the way folks, my son didn't meet his 3 hr 15 min. goal.............for 42k..........he did it in 3 1/2 hours.........oh boy, when he came across the finish line, the exhilaration and the broken body to boot..........I was in tears! This was his first full Marathon..there were over 5200 participants in the full, my daughter and SIL in the 1/2. Afterwards we all went to greet him inside.........what a sight! Bodies stretching, bodies, crippled.........looked like a train wreck...........but he did it! If you, out there, have heard of the WALL...he came up against it! Elaine
It is a pretty cataclysmic sight isn't it Elaine. Congrats to Tom! I'm glad Leah doesn't do it anymore, it's an exhausting feat even for the spectators.
If I was't working that weekend, I'd be over there in a flash. Hope it goes well for you guys. Linda
