Puppy trampled the Giant Allium!

Columbus, OH(Zone 6a)

Then he rolled in them, then trampled some more. The flower buds are a lost cause, but is it still possible to dig them up and move them to a safer area? Or should I just wait until fall?

BTW - this is my first post. Is there a forum where new members may introduce themselves?

Hi ceceoh and welcome to dave"s. Above is a link to the"welcome mat" where you can post your hellos and others can wish you welcome

Im sorry I dont know what to tell you about your allium but be patient and someone will come along who can tell you exactly what you need.

I read they can be transplanted right after they flower, so I would think they'd be okay. Just leave the foliage on them and disbud them.

Sorry to hear that your allium got flattened. Some dogs just don't respect flower beds. I hope they will be ok for next year, maybe with a fence...

I would leave them alone for a while and transplant them later in the fall they need to try to recoop from this before they are traumatized by the move. That is just my humble opinion. This happened to me a couple of years ago and I just left mine where they were. When they bloomed the next year simey was older and much wiser to the flower beds. All 150 pounds of him. Now that was a puppy! LOL

my little franklin has learned respect for my garden beds. unfortuantely that golden retriever, baily, across the street, has no such respect. she is wild and just goes anywhere and really quickly too. her mom tries, but baily is an escape artist supreme. LOL and she won't come to me anymore because i brought her home a couple of times. LOL oh well, such is life. no great harm done.
