Does anyone know what a good rule of thumb is for taking plants outside? Mine are in desperate need of real sun and air, but I'm afraid it is still too cool at night. What should I be looking for temperature-wise, especially on the low end?
Thank you,
Mary Ev.
Safe temp for houseplants to go outside?
Mary E.
Mine are already out. However I have been pulling them in the sun porch if the temp is going to drop very low. If you put them out after the May 15th frost date you should be fine.
I have put mine outside, and only bring them inside if it gets to be like 47 and below. I'm sure they could handle down to at least 45, I'm just a little over protective.
This is just my rule of thumb, not a scientifically proven one! :)
Thank you CWBY and Art, I guess since it is still getting down into the 30's here, at night, I can take them out during the day and bring them in in the evening. At least until it gets a little warmer.
