GW, HELP!!

Hi Kim,
My mom told me to ask you. Her computer was fine yesterday morning, she was online, no problems. She turned the computer off and went back a few hours later, turned it on, and she got a screen with 4 choices on the mode, normal mode, some step by step thing, safe mode, and something else. If you choose normal mode, it says it is looking for a driver and when you click OK for it to find it automatically, the screen goes white and it just sits there, if you go step by step, you answer y or n to several questions and get to the same point where it asks to look automatically for this driver, same white screen, on safe mode it just sits there with safe written in the four corners of the monitor. I don't remember what the fourth choice was. If it is on one of the first two choices with the white screen, if you do control alt delete, where normally you get a list of the programs running, there is nothing at all. I told her to try to find her recovery disc. Any other ideas???
