I thought I'd never see this lovely bloom for me since I kept taking cuttings of it to share with friends. Last month while watering it, to my surprise I found two peduncles growing. They're not much bigger than when I first discovered them but they just sit there teasing me. I promised it, no more cuttings for a while just to give it time to grow after seeing pictures of larger specimens in a couple of Swedish websites. Now I just hope they don't blast but so far so good. I'm excited but I feel like an expectant mother again.

Hoya linearis is such a tease!
Congratulations and good luck, Gemila!
Have you had buds blast before? In my experience bud blast usually occurs in Hoyas that need wet feet. I had this with both multiflora and lanceolata bella until I started keeping them in saucers and pouring a little water on top each day. It goes against everything I was ever taught about watering, but now my multiflora blooms constantly and the bella is blooming all over for the first time (as opposed to one group of buds out of ten survived).
Looking forward to seeing pictures of the blooms!
Thanks Karen, I've got my fingers crossed.
I have not had blooms blast on H. linearis. These have actually just sat here for almost a month doing nothing (meaning not growing). I've had blasting of buds on my H. multiflora although I've kept it moist but just recently read somewhere that it dislikes drafts. Since its under the ac/heat vent I have concluded this is probably why. I'll be moving it soon to see if it makes a difference. Now its starting to grow another peduncle. I've had bud blasts on H. bella and H. lacunosa, H. nummulariodes and a few others. I've noticed that when the buds are forming, if the soil is let dry, the buds blast...atleast thats been my observance on my plants.
I'll post photos when it does bloom but I'm not promising great pictures. I've got a cheapy camera that doesn't take very good closeups. I'm hoping some money will drop out of the sky so I can get a good one....I know, I'm dreaming agian! LOL.
